SUN NINJA DESIGN CONTEST - Official Finalist Voting Rules

1. Overview
The Sun Ninja Design Contest has reached its final stage!
Following the submission and finalist-selection process, eight designs have been selected for a public vote on Sun Ninja's official Instagram account, @sunninjatents.
The community will determine the First, Second and Third Place winners based on the number of valid votes received by each finalist, subject to eligibility verification and the tie-breaking procedure described below.
No purchase is necessary to vote or win. A purchase will not increase the chances of winning.
These voting rules supplement the Sun Ninja Design Challenge Official Rules.
2. Official Voting Period
Voting Opens: Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
Voting Closes: Monday, November 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).
The official cutoff is 12:00 AM PST on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Votes submitted at or after that time will not count.
All voting times are determined using the America/Los_Angeles time zone, which changes from PDT to PST on November 1, 2026.
Votes submitted outside the official voting period will not be counted.
3. How to Vote
Voting takes place exclusively on the official finalist voting carousel published on Instagram by @sunninjatents.
To cast your vote:
- Visit the official finalist voting post on @sunninjatents.
- Swipe through the eight finalist designs, numbered 1 through 8.
- Select your favorite design.
- Comment the number of your chosen design (1β8) directly on the official voting post.
Only one valid vote per Instagram account will be counted.
Voting is free and no purchase is required.
Likes, shares, saves, Story mentions, direct messages and comments on other posts do not count as votes.
4. Valid Votes
A valid vote must meet all the following requirements:
- Be submitted directly on the official Instagram finalist voting post.
- Clearly identify one design numbered 1 through 8.
- Be submitted within the official voting period.
- Originate from a genuine Instagram account operated by an individual.
- Comply with these voting rules and Instagram's applicable terms and policies.
Examples of acceptable votes include "3," "Design 3," or "My vote is 3."
Comments that contain multiple conflicting design numbers, do not identify a clear selection or otherwise cannot be reliably interpreted will not count.
5. One Vote Per Account
Each Instagram account may cast only one valid vote.
If multiple voting comments are submitted by the same account, only the first valid vote will count.
Additional comments will not increase the number of votes credited to that account or change its original selection.
If a valid vote is deleted after it has been recorded, the original recorded vote remains final. If no reliable record exists, the deleted vote may be unverifiable and therefore cannot be counted.
Individuals may not use multiple accounts to cast additional votes.
6. Fair Voting and Fraud Prevention
Sun Ninja is committed to maintaining a fair and transparent voting process.
The following activities are prohibited:
- Using bots, automated systems or scripts to generate votes.
- Purchasing votes or artificially generated engagement.
- Creating or operating fake or duplicate accounts to submit additional votes.
- Offering payments, gifts, discounts, prizes or other incentives in exchange for votes.
- Impersonating other individuals or manipulating voting records.
- Any other activity intended to fraudulently influence the results.
Finalists are encouraged to promote their designs and invite friends, family, followers and their wider communities to vote.
Sharing the official post and encouraging genuine participation are permitted.
Sun Ninja reserves the right to investigate suspicious voting activity and disregard votes where there is reasonable evidence of fraud or manipulation.
Where a finalist is suspected of knowingly participating in prohibited activity, Sun Ninja may review the circumstances, request an explanation and take appropriate action, including disqualification where justified under the Official Rules.
7. How Winners Are Determined
The three eligible finalist designs receiving the highest valid vote totals will be awarded First, Second and Third Place.
- First Place: Highest number of valid votes.
- Second Place: Second-highest number of valid votes.
- Third Place: Third-highest number of valid votes.
Each valid vote carries equal weight.
No additional judging scores, follower counts, likes, shares or other engagement metrics will influence the ranking, except in the event of a tie as described below.
All results are subject to validation of votes, eligibility and compliance with the Official Rules.
8. Tie-Breaking Procedure
In accordance with Section 9 of the original Sun Ninja Design Challenge Official Rules, if two or more finalist designs receive the same number of valid votes and the tie affects their final ranking, Sun Ninja will determine the higher-placed design using the original finalist-selection criteria.
These criteria include:
- Originality
- Creativity
- Sun Ninja brand fit
- Visual appeal
- Suitability for production
This tie-breaking procedure will apply only to designs receiving equal valid vote totals and will not affect the rankings of finalists who are not tied.
9. Prizes
The three winning finalists will receive the following cash prizes:

π₯ Second Place β $2,000 USD
π₯ Third Place β $1,000 USD
Total Cash Prize Pool: $8,000 USD
In addition, the First Place design will be developed for production as a Sun Ninja beach tent.
Production is subject to reasonable technical, manufacturing, branding, safety and commercial modifications. The final manufactured product may differ from the original submitted design.
Design ownership, intellectual-property licensing and production rights are governed by Section 6 of the original Official Rules.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the First Place winner will not receive royalties or additional compensation from sales of the resulting product.
Winners are responsible for applicable taxes associated with their prizes.
10. Winner Eligibility and Verification
Prize eligibility is governed by the original Official Rules.
The contest is open to legal residents of the United States aged 18 or older at the time of entry, subject to the exclusions and other eligibility requirements in those rules.
Potential winners may be required to provide proof of identity and eligibility and complete any documentation reasonably necessary for prize fulfillment, publicity and intellectual-property rights.
Failure to respond within five (5) business days after notification may result in disqualification and selection of the next highest-ranked eligible finalist, in accordance with the original Official Rules.
11. Vote Counting and Verification
Sun Ninja will calculate the final results using comment records from the official Instagram voting post.
The verification process will include:
- Identifying comments containing valid votes for designs 1β8.
- Excluding comments submitted outside the official voting period.
- Counting only the first valid vote from each Instagram account.
- Excluding ambiguous, duplicate or otherwise invalid votes.
- Reviewing evidence of fraudulent or manipulated voting.
- Calculating the final valid vote totals and rankings.
Sun Ninja may use automated tools to assist with counting and validation, with manual review where reasonably necessary.
The final verified totals will determine the winners, subject to the tie-breaking and eligibility provisions of the Official Rules.
12. Winner Announcement
Following the close of voting, Sun Ninja will review and validate the results before announcing the winners.
Winners will be announced through Sun Ninja's official Instagram account and/or website after verification is complete.
Potential winners will be contacted using the information provided during their original contest submissions.
Sun Ninja may publish the final verified vote totals and rankings.
13. Finalist Promotion
All eight finalists are welcome to promote their participation and encourage their communities to vote.
Permitted promotional activities include sharing the official voting post, posting about their design, and inviting genuine votes from followers, friends and family.
Finalists must not purchase votes, offer incentives for votes or engage in fraudulent voting practices.
All finalists are subject to the same voting rules.
14. Technical Issues
Sun Ninja is not responsible for Instagram outages, account restrictions, comment-delivery failures or other technical problems outside its reasonable control.
If significant technical issues materially affect the integrity or fairness of voting, Sun Ninja may modify, suspend or extend the voting process as reasonably necessary and permitted under the original Official Rules and applicable law.
Any material change to the voting period or procedure will be communicated through Sun Ninja's official Instagram account and/or website.
15. Privacy
Instagram usernames, comments, timestamps and related voting information may be processed by Sun Ninja and authorized service providers for contest administration, vote validation, fraud prevention, winner determination and related recordkeeping.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the Sun Ninja Privacy Policy.
Voting does not automatically subscribe participants to marketing communications.
16. Instagram Disclaimer
This contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram or Meta.
By participating, voters acknowledge that Sun Ninja is responsible for administering the contest and that Instagram and Meta are not responsible for its operation, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Participants must comply with Instagram's applicable terms and community guidelines.
17. Relationship to Original Official Rules
These voting rules provide the detailed procedures for the public voting stage of the Sun Ninja Design Contest.
They supplement, and do not replace, the original Sun Ninja Design Challenge Official Rules.
All provisions of the original Official Rules relating to eligibility, submissions, intellectual property, finalist selection, prize fulfillment, publicity, privacy and general contest administration remain applicable.
The tie-breaking procedure in Section 9 of the original Official Rules expressly governs any tied vote totals.
The revised voting dates in these supplementary rules constitute the announced voting schedule under Section 3 of the original Official Rules, which permits reasonable date modifications.
In the event of any other inconsistency, the original Official Rules will govern, subject to applicable law.
